Vegetarian B&B in a wildlife paradise!

Vegetarian hosts, Organic food, Tranquillity and Wildlife, Trehawsa is often described as a haven of peace and beauty. Phil and Sarah Williams who are musicians, have been vegetarians since the 1970s and understand the requirements of vegetarians and vegans and are fully sympathetic. The land is being managed to encourage wildlife and native flora and fauna, the domestic animals lead happy peaceful and long lives, and Trehawsa is an organic and environmentally friendly household.

Trehawsa, once a Victorian game-keepers cottage, is set in a beautiful secluded valley facing the sea, its 11 acres are home to Sarah’s horses, dogs, sheep and rare breed poultry, and include an ancient six acre Oak wood with a small stream and nature trail. There are stunning coastal cliff walks, wide sandy beaches and beautiful scenery nearby, small villages to explore and the famous holiday areas of Boscastle, Bude, Tintagel and Hartland are all within easy reach.

Sarah and Phil grow much of their own fruit and vegetables and when they can’t, they source local organically grown produce. Breakfast consists of eggs laid by our own rare breed hens, organic wholemeal toast, veggie sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, & beans, served with fair trade tea or coffee and fruit juices and cereals. Full Vegan breakfasts can also be served. All can be consumed in our homely farmhouse kitchen where a variety of wild birds can be watched at the window feeders. If you are lucky you may glimpse Red deer, badgers, foxes, or see barn owls and bats on summer nights, and seals and dolphins are often seen from the coast. Quiet, well behaved dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on leads outside because of all the animals, wild and domesticated!

Trehawsa is not a full time B&B, we are only open for B&B at certain times of the year so please e mail to enquire if you have a date in mind. Rooms have twin beds, and spectaular views towards the coast, our family room sleeps four, but we do not take children under 10 years of age. The bathroom is downstairs, with shower only. TV and tea & coffee making facilities in both rooms.

Prices 25 per person, per night.
